When you say Karlin, many people first recall a song of the same name written by this songwriting legend. Ivan Hlas, who has been a solid part of the domestic music scene for over four decades, became famous as part of the band Nahlas after playing with his friends from Hanspaulka city quarter, and ultimately thanks to the musical Big Beat (Šakalí léta). His lyrics are a good illustration of a city life and a bitter sweetness of relationships and still gain favor of experts and other generations of fans. In recent years, he has been performing mainly with a guitarist Norbi Kovács and a cellist “Olin” Nejezchleba, with whom he has also recorded his last year´s album named Krásnej dar.
